This 2025 Summer Institute will be held in person @ Hoffmann Haus, St Joseph’s Halls, St Marys Catholic Church & School, and Fredericksburg Pioneer Museum with concerts through out the hill country at wineries, breweries, old missions, churches and caves.

*Need and merit based scholarships available. No deserving student will be turned away.
ACTIVE MASTERCLASS PARTICIPANT
- World-Renowned faculty working together with exceptional College and Post-Grad cellists
- MasterClasses
- Two 50-minute private lessons
- Two Young Artists Recitals
- First Hour–Technique class targeting a few specific aspects of cello playing each day
- Connecting to your audience-stage presence and dealing with stage fright seminar.
- Cello Choir–Exploring a wide genre of music through music-making with all young artists. Rehearsals culminate at the end of the week for side-by-side performance with world-renowned faculty members.
The Fellowship Program is designed for college students, and young professionals with an advanced technique and a cultivated understanding of musical styles.
The Texas Cello School believes that every student is an individual and deserves to be treated uniquely, as such each decision will be made on a case by case basis.
*Need and merit based scholarships available. No deserving student will be turned away.
Fellowship Program
All experienced cellists should submit the same application. Only a selected number of cellists will be placed in the Texas Cello School’s Fellowship Program.
When a decision is made by the TCS admissions committee, you will be notified of program placements and possible scholarship offers.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
March 1, 2025–Early Decisions, Application fee $75
After March 1, 2025–Regular Decisions, Application fee $100
AUDITION GUIDLINES:
Three separate Youtube video links labeled:
1. Name of the student
2. Composer
3. Title of the selection/piece with opus numbers
The three videos should fulfill the following requirements:
- A piece or a movement demonstrating technical accomplishment
- A piece or a movement demonstrating lyrical phrasing
- A movement from one of the six cello suites by J.S. Bach

- World-Renowned Faculty working with exceptional young musicians
- Two 50-minute private lessons
- Two Young Artists Recitals
- First Hour–Technique class targeting a few specific aspects of cello playing each day
- All-State and All-Region Preparatory Seminar for middle schoolers and high school students.
- Connecting to your audience-stage presence and dealing with stage fright seminar.
- Cello Choir–Exploring a wide genre of music through music-making with all young artists. Rehearsals culminate at the end of the week for side-by-side performance with world-renowned faculty members.
The Emerging Talent Program is intended for students ages 10 and up. Prerequisites include a demonstration of comfortable shifting, the beginnings of a healthy vibrato, a defined sense of pitch and cultivated ear hand connection.
Has studied privately with a professional for several years.
The Texas Cello School believes that every student is an individual and deserves to be treated uniquely, as such each decision will be made on a case by case basis.
